Whenever we're in France, Carol & I are impressed by the quality of literature on the news stands; simply put, a great many more of their magazines & newspapers seem to contain what could remotely be termed 'news', as opposed to gossip about Z-list 'celebrities'. There could be all sorts of cultural explanations for the fact that French people are more interested in news, but my theory is that having newsreaders who look like this may just have somethng to do with it.

So, I'm starting a campaign for more gorgeous Frech newsreaders, which will in turn lead to a more educated, aware population. Who's with me?

Sign me up.
I noticed this on my recent foray into foreign territory myself.

It's also a little known fact that the news story she's reporting is the new 'Skeksis Device' which turns pretty newsreaders like Margaret Hassan into withered hags as presented, thereby draining their life juice.
Or something....

Um, the 'withered hag' in question is Margaret Hassan, dude. the delectable anchor-babe is Melissa Theurieu (sp?).
Just in case you fancy conducting some independent research...
